About the Role:
First Citizens Bank Barbados is seeking an experienced and strategic Area Manager - Retail Banking to lead and direct the Retail Banking Function. Reporting to the Retail & Commercial Head and CEO, this key leadership role will drive business strategy, customer experience, compliance, and profitability initiatives across the retail network.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute long-term strategies and annual business plans

Drive profit targets, performance improvement and customer experience initiatives

Lead change management, process implementation, policy reviews, and efficiency projects

Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to Group policies
-
Review and submit comprehensive Credit Proposals for approval

Oversee loans campaigns, sales initiatives, and product launches
-
Manage Profit & Loss reporting integrity for Retail Banking
-
Lead customer service and sales management strategies
-
Coach and mentor Branch Managers to achieve business targets

Perform other assignments as required by Senior Management
Ideal Candidate:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Management or related field
-
5+ years progressive experience in banking/finance (minimum 2 at managerial level)

MBA or Project Management Certification (an asset)

Proven leadership in credit analysis, retail banking strategy, and team development

Strong knowledge of risk management, CRM, and regulatory compliance

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and banking technologies

Excellent problem-solving, analytical and regulatory knowledge (local and regional)
