Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metal Paint & Refinishing Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for painting and refinishing gates, railings, and various metal components to a high standard of quality and durability. This role involves surface preparation, color matching, and the application of a variety of finishes using spray equipment and other tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare metal surfaces for painting by sanding, filling, grinding, and masking as necessary.
- Apply primers, paints, clear coats, and specialty finishes.
- Inspect finished surfaces for defects and perform necessary touch-ups or rework.
- Maintain and clean painting tools, spray booths, and related equipment.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in metal painting and refinishing, preferably in a fabrication or construction environment would be an asset.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques and finishing processes.
- Proficiency in using spray guns and other paint application equipment.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform hands-on tasks for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with powder coating or specialty metal finishes is an asset.
