Job Summary
The Barbados Light & Power Company Limited is seeking a solution-minded, service-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to support the effective and efficient execution of human resource transactional activities across various business units. In a culture focused on safety and service excellence, the role provides support in areas including recruitment, selection, training and development, performance management, employee relations, and organizational development.
Key Responsibilities

Support the HR Business Partner in implementing HR initiatives and providing administrative support.

Coordinate recruitment and selection processes, including candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, and pre-employment evaluations.

Facilitate the Absence Review process and maintain accurate leave records.

Assist with Industrial Relations matters such as investigations, grievance resolution, and disciplinary hearings.

Organize training programs and related logistics for business units.

Maintain updated employee files and HR databases (both manual and electronic).

Prepare HR reports and conduct project research as required.

Promote strong internal customer relations through visible HR presence.
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field (or suitable HR certification).

At least 3 years of experience in the Human Resources field.

Strong knowledge of HR principles, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), and unionized environments.

Good understanding of employment legislation (Employment Rights Act, Safety and Health at Work Act).

Knowledge of NISSS and PAYE statutory requirements.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to function efficiently in fast-paced environments.
